What is ‘A Simple Gesture’? A quarterly community food collection drive through the delivery and pick up of reusable bags filled with the food pantry’s most needed items from neighbors and friends in the Duxbury community. This program has been successful in several surrounding south shore towns for many years!
If you live in Duxbury, sign up to be a donor! We will drop off a re-usable bag at your home with a list of most needed items for the food pantry and will pick it up from your doorstep on a designated quarterly date (and leave you a bag for the next donation day). Don't worry, we will send you a reminder email prior to the donation day with a challenge item for the quarter and the ability to opt out if you are not able to participate that week!

We are also looking for volunteer drivers and sorters to help us! We will send out a sign up for each donation day so you can sign up to serve as a driver or a sorter.
What is a driver? You will pick up donation bags at 15-20 homes and leave them a re-usable bag for the next donation day and deliver the filled bags to St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene (136 Summer Street) where they will be sorted. We will have volunteers there to help unload your vehicle when you arrive! We anticipate this is a 1 hour commitment from 9am-10am on donation day.
What is a sorter? We will need volunteers to unload, sort, weigh and/or box the food donations in the hours after pickup. This is a 2 hour time commitment from 9:30-11:30 on donation day.
This is a great way for individuals and families to engage in service to the Duxbury Community.
